How it works

Privacy

This tool never uploads your file. Parsing happens with JavaScript running in your browser tab, and the file is discarded from memory when you leave the page or load a new one.

Limitations

EXIF is one of several metadata formats a file can carry — see the Metadata Viewer for IPTC, XMP, ICC, and C2PA in the same file. Some cameras and editors also strip EXIF entirely before you receive a file, in which case there's nothing here to show.

Frequently asked questions

Does this tool upload my photo anywhere?
No. EXIF parsing runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your photo is never sent to a server.
Why can't I see GPS data on my photo?
Many phones and apps strip GPS data before sharing, or the photo may never have had it (e.g. screenshots, scans, or GPS turned off at capture time).
Does this show me if a photo was AI-generated?
EXIF alone rarely proves that. Use the C2PA Checker for Content Credentials, and the Metadata Viewer, which also flags known AI-tool identifiers found in Software/CreatorTool fields.
